Research Activities
Within the framework of Danish development assisstance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark supports research concerning developing countries.
The objective of major research projects is to generate new problem-orientated knowledge of relevance to the needs of developing countries. The projects are to foster interdisciplinary research cooperation and innovative alliances between research environments, especially in the form of partnerships between Danish researchers and researchers from developing countries.
Grants are only awarded for research projects in developing countries under the GNI threshold set by the World Bank (USD 2.470 per capita 2007) and are primarily awarded towards developmental research in Danish programme countries.
The following types of grants can be applied for in 2010:
1) Larger strategic research projects ( >
2) Individual PhD and postdoc applications.
The management of the application procedure as well as the management of the granted projects are carried out by DFC.
