Training Management & Development

Target Group
Heads of training and planning sections, departmental heads of training institutions, extension staff responsible for comprehensive training activities, HRD and training officers, or others in similar positions.

Entry Profile
Minimum of 5 years working experience in the organisation; at least one of these should be in an executive position. Good working knowledge of English. Computer literate

Course Goals
To improve the ability and capacity of the participants to identify and assess training needs and subsequently design, organise, implement and evaluate training activities.

To fulfil this objective, the approach to the course will be based on a combination of utilising the participants’ own experience with the provision of high-quality technical training, based on the most recent research and experiences.

Duration
2 weeks

Course Structure
Part of the course will focus on the development of an Individual Implementation Assignment (IIA). This assignment must originate in an activity that is:
- Compatible with the organisation's strategic goals
- Due for planning
- Within the participant's own area of responsibility

The IIA may take its starting point in an existing training plan for the organisation or in an identified organisational problem related to training.


A superior must approve the topic and a draft outline of the IIA before the course in Denmark. The course contains exposure to relevant Danish institutions through field trips.

Funding
The course is co-funded by Danida Fellowship Programme. After selection of course participants, the Danida programmes/projects are charged a non-refundable amount of DKK 2,500 per participant per tutorial week.

Total funding needs are DKK 17,500 per participant. This includes study fees, accommodation, allowances, insurances and international transport.

Frequency
Training Management & Development courses can only be realised provided that programme/project funding and a sufficient number of qualified applicants are available.
