Interdisciplinary Courses

The Course
Interdisciplinary courses are typically of a duration of 2 - 8 weeks, and Danida programmes and projects in the 16 Danida programme countries* are invited to send applicants. The course programme is designed to address the general training needs of Danida programmes and projects. The courses are primarily specialised within selected mainstreaming issues and management areas. Representatives from the place of study and Danida Fellowship Centre select the participants.

Funding
The courses are co-funded by the central fellowship grant, but cost-sharing on the part of the programmes/projects is a requirement. Courses are furthermore are conditional on the availability of programme/project funds and sufficient qualified applicants. The cost of participation covers the reimbursable expenses only: study fee, allowances, travel expenses, and accommodation.

Bridging between Training and Job Tasks
The courses are based on a general syllabus, but also directed towards the fellow's current job situation in order to make the acquired knowledge and skills applicable for the fellow's home organisation. Therefore, candidates will be asked to define a specific activity of importance to his/her field of work. This must be done in co-operation with his/her superiors. In Denmark, the fellow will develop an action plan for the identified activity. Thus, it will serve as a bridging tool between the course and the job tasks.
