Danish Support to Capacity Development

Danish support to capacity building in the programme countries shall be based on national Human Resource Development plans for the individual sectors. In principle, Danish HRD support is conditional upon the formulation of an overall plan for capacity building in the sector in question in order to secure partnership and accountability. Thus, Danish support to national plans will be based on assessment of the quality of such plans and shall be financed via sector programme funds. As a rule, support should primarily be earmarked broad, sector-based capacity building instead of individually based further education/training.

Focusing on the needs of the programmes

A study programme with DFC is always based on the needs of the individual programmes and projects. Our fellowship programme contains many different types of courses enabling us to design each study programme precisely and to meet individual needs.

Guaranteeing high professional quality
DFC is synonymous with a high level of professional competence. DFC works closely with universities, institutions of higher education and private course providers and has developed a unique and solid professional expertise over many years. DFC only selects courses and study programmes, with the best professional content and educational methods. DFC only selects courses that use qualified English-speaking teachers. These teachers have working experience from developing countries and actively include fellow experiences.

Useful tools to take home
It is essential that fellows use their newly acquired skills from Denmark when they return to their place of work. This is why each student as an integrated part of the course works on a specific problem from his or her own job in the home country. To apply what is being learnt, the fellow writes a paper presenting an action plan as to how to handle the issue. After returning, the fellow will use the action plan as a tool in resolving the problem. The course thus becomes an asset for fellows individually - and for their organisations and institutions - and ultimately their countries.
