Organisation
Danida Fellowship Centre (DFC) is a self-governing institution, which manages and implements the Danida supported Fellowship Programme in Denmark and administers research grants for development research.
DFC co-operates closely with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs defines the framework for the fellowship activities of the Danida programmes and projects, DFC is in charge of all educational, administrative, social, cultural and practical issues in connection with a fellow’s study in Denmark.
In relation to development research DFC is responsible for the practical administration of all ongoing projects, including disbursements, accounts and reports, and the practical part of the annual round of applications to the Consultative Research Committee for Development Research. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for the political and strategic aspects, including the overall contact to research centres, institutions and networks in Denmark and abroad.
Governing Body
DFC's highest organ is a governing body consisting of 5 members appointed for three-year periods.
Staff
DFC employs 19 permanent staff members. DFC also has a staff of about 8 Danish student employees (junior staff) who are attached to the fellowship activities.

DFC's VISION is sustaining development through training and research.
DFC's MISSION for the fellowship programme is to ensure the quality of the training of fellows coming from
developing countries and who are affiliated with Danish development assistance.
DFC's GOALS for the fellowship programme are giving fellows the qualifications to work in their home country ensuring relevant studies at the right price, creating the best framework for the study period.
